Run Software Update in Settings. The phone should see there's an update and download it.

If you don't get the notification for an update, you can manually download the update and flash it with Odin.

I am running on 4.1.1 and I am with AT&T. I have went thru my software update and it says all software is up to date how do I get the 4.2?

There is no official 4.2 update for the Galaxy S3's.

Actually, there is, but not for anyone is the US. The carriers kind of hold us hostage here. When there is an update, official or leaked, I'll have a post up here on WonderHowTo.
